About This Position
Purpose:
This is a multi-craft position with emphasis on mechanical repairs. Technician will be required to learn and work in all areas of maintenance, based on knowledge and education. Responsible for the upkeep and repair of all plant/facility equipment and the performing of preventive/predictive maintenance as required, preventing unnecessary downtimeKey Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Maintain adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Adhere to company attendance policy.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through active promotion of MCA Quality Policy. Adhere to current Procedures, Work Instructions and other applicable documentation.
- Achieve daily production needs by coordinating resources and prioritizing tasks within assigned area.
- Accomplish 100% on-time delivery through effective daily and weekly production requirements planning.
- Execute 5S and housekeeping activities to achieve and maintain expectations.
- Promote continual improvement and cost saving opportunities.
- Monitor resource availability and needs for assigned area.
- Review and report daily performance and other assigned metrics as appropriate.
- Maintain prompt and effective communication to Production group, appropriate support groups and Management.
- Able to work overtime during the week and on weekends as needed; at times this will be necessary on short notice as business conditions change.
- Practice Total Productive Maintenance and work with Production Team to manage the breakdown repairs for the equipment.
- Report on breakdowns and repairs to maintenance and area supervisors.
- Attend daily meetings with maintenance group as needed.
- Assist engineering with calibration on equipment.
- Assist with planning of work order completion.
- Monitor resource availability and needs for assigned area.
- Serve as “extra set of hands” as necessary to ensure team meets all expectations.

- Responsible for mechanical repair and installation on all plant equipment
- Set-up machines for production
- Connect electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic lines to equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Install replacement parts and order parts as necessary
- Repair leaks of all nature on machinery
- Install, maintain and repair equipment including, but not limited to piping, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Assist assigned operator in try-out of equipment upon completion of servicing.
- Make weld repairs as needed.
- Learn to operate all equipment in the area assigned in order to fill in for operator or test equipment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- 2-Year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology preferred, but comparable experience in Mechanical field will be accepted, based on amount and quality of training and skill sets.
- Ability to interpret hydraulic and/or pneumatic diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints
- Knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments, i.e., micrometers or calipers
- Understanding of principles of welding, i.e., GMAW (gas metal arc welding-tig), SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), etc. and related safety knowledge
- Understanding of principles of general fabrication
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of piping
- General understanding of rigging
- Ability to utilize various powered tools such as grinders and drills
- Ability and willingness to learn other areas of maintenance, such as electrical.
Legal Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Working Conditions:
- This position works in a plant environment with frequent exposure to industrial noise, machinery, grease, dust, and changing temperatures.
- Shift work, including overtime and weekends, may be required based on production needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed or composite-toed shoes, hearing protection and gloves as appropriate.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching and lifting of materials and tools as needed (typically up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be able to observe and inspect machinery, parts, and work areas, sometimes in awkward positions or confined spaces.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access elevated areas or platforms.
- Manual dexterity for operating control panels, handling small parts, and using hand tools.
