About This Position
California Faucets is looking to bring on a talented 2nd Shift Materials Lead. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA warehouse. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 5:15 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
The Material Handling Department is a fast-paced, high-volume operation where careful, quick and accurate part movement between warehouse and factory and within the factory departments supports on-time delivery of customer orders. The Material Handling Lead is responsible for ensuring that the production departments are fully stocked and have the products/materials that they need to fulfill orders and move product quickly. The position maintains the flow of merchandise through production systems and performs quality control measures to ensure that quality-checked merchandise is available to the production departments as needed.
In addition to these duties, the Material Handling Lead will also have the following additional responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading a team of receiving, material handling and inventory control associates and setting quality performance standards for the department.
- Responsible for training new hires and ensuring department procedures are followed.
- Coordinates with various department leads to maximize production flow and meet operational objectives.
- Receiving purchase orders (PO’s) into ERP computer system from outside vendors.
- Scanning tickets into the ERP system and producing labels.
- Reviewing the incoming orders for accuracy by counting the parts and checking against packing slips.
- Physically unwrapping vendor orders, visually inspecting parts, reconciling PO for count and quality.
- Wrapping, inspecting, and labeling finished parts.
- Processing receipts and putting away parts into stock locations.
- Picking parts from inventory locations and performing cycle counting.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, including physical and system inventory.
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks to ensure that each incoming delivery matches the company PO.
- Identifying when product is missing or damaged from an order.
- Carrying and transporting materials utilizing material handling equipment, such as with handcarts, a Standup Forklift, and with company vehicles.
- Driving replenishment product/materials between multiple warehouses.
- Picking, peeling and clocking work orders for PVD finishing.
- Bagging, tagging and put away of product from PVD finishing.
- Actively participating in problem solving, process improvement, and helping all team members finish daily tasks.
- Inter-department cart transportation.
- Box-kit building & work orders clocking.
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the warehouse locations, accurate labeling, verification, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements:The Following Personal Attributes/Skills are Required:
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Must be able to read and count accurately and perform basic math.
- Must have knowledge and experience working with an ERP system.
- Adaptability/flexibility when encountering problems. Must be able to communicate discrepancies to team leader and be able to solve problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with all safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, dependability, persistence.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Environmental and Safety Considerations:
- Possible exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise when working indoors.
- May be required to work with adhesives, power tools, forced air.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly leads, coaches, and trains a team of Material Handling, Receiving and Inventory Control associates. He/she is responsible for safety initiatives and overall team performance.
People Interface:
The position requires contact primarily within the department on routine matters. Contact outside the Material Handling Department also occurs daily when coordinating with other departments and outside processing vendors.
Decision Making:
The position requires working from detailed instructions as well as the use of judgment to plan and perform general decisions to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.
Supervision Received:
This position will be under the general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor.
Accountabilities:
After adequate training, the position requires a level of accountability to complete a pre-determined amount of work or units completed per shift.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing similar work in a related field, with some leadership experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jackets, etc.).
- Understanding of industry best practices.
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
- Bilingual with English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger. The employee is frequently required to stand extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms below and above shoulder; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist or crawl. The employee will be required to lift/carry 1-50 pounds routinely.
