About the Role:
Forbo Movement Systems is seeking an experienced and driven Warehouse Manager to lead the launch and ongoing operation of a new warehouse facility in Charlotte, NC. This key leadership role is responsible for all warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping & receiving, material flow, and warehouse team leadership to support operational excellence and customer fulfillment.
The Warehouse Manager will drive efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement across warehouse operations while partnering closely with customer service, planning, procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and operational support. While the role will maintain close coordination with transportation and logistics activities, the primary focus is warehouse operations leadership rather than transportation management.
What You’ll Do
· Lead planning and execution of the new warehouse setup, including layout design, material flow optimization, process development, and system integration.
· Manage daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory operations for a team of 5 employees.
· Ensure high inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, root cause analysis, and SLOB reduction initiatives.
· Oversee inbound and outbound shipping activities, ensuring timely processing, documentation accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
· Partner with logistics and transportation teams to support carrier coordination, shipment scheduling, and warehouse-related transportation activities.
· Support carrier performance reviews, freight cost analysis, and transportation process improvements, while transportation sourcing and contract ownership remain outside the primary scope of the role.
· Utilize SAP to manage material movements, warehouse transactions, and inventory accuracy while identifying and implementing operational improvements.
· Drive consistency and operational excellence across warehouse processes and material handling activities.
· Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement tools to enhance safety, workflow efficiency, space utilization, and productivity.
· Track and improve KPIs related to inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, shipping performance, and operational efficiency.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement through coaching, communication, and employee development.
What You Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
· 8–10 years of warehouse management experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment (required).
· Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP experience (MM/WM modules preferred).
· Proven success managing warehouse operations, facility startups, or large-scale operational improvement initiatives.
· Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse processes, and material flow optimization.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate operational performance data and identify process improvement opportunities.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
· Hands-on leadership style focused on problem-solving, operational execution, and team development.
· Experience applying Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Experience
· Oversight of multi-site warehouse operations.
· Familiarity with warehouse automation or advanced Material handling systems.
· Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety standards.
· Experience supporting transportation coordination and warehouse-related logistics activities.
