JOB OVERVIEW: NOTIFIER

The Notifier plays a critical leadership role in advancing ArborWorks’ vegetation management operations by overseeing field execution, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving team performance. This position is responsible for coordinating field personnel, managing project schedules, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and production across utility contracts.

Partnering closely with Operations Management, this role ensures that vegetation management programs are delivered efficiently, client expectations are met or exceeded, and all work adheres to applicable regulatory and environmental standards. The Senior Consulting Utility Forester serves as a key liaison between field teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders, promoting accountability, data accuracy, and operational consistency.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure team productivity and safety compliance.
  • Support workforce development by identifying training needs and fostering professional growth.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure adherence to company standards and contractual obligations.

Operations & Project Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily field operations across assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules to align with client requirements and operational goals.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet production targets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to maintain continuity of project execution and address operational challenges.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Conduct audits of field work to ensure compliance with utility specifications, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Review and manage customer refusals, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of field data collection and reporting systems.
  • Enforce safety protocols and lead by example in promoting a culture of safety.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Serve as a point of contact for client representatives and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and performance metrics effectively.
  • Support the resolution of escalated issues related to field operations or customer interactions.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Natural Resources, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) or related field operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading field teams or supervising personnel in a production-driven environment.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and field data collection systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret utility specifications, environmental guidelines, and technical requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • ISA Certified Arborist required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Required Training:

  • Completion of ArborWorks safety training programs upon hire.
  • Ongoing compliance and safety certifications as required by clients and regulatory agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ISA Utility Specialist Certification.
  • Experience working with major utility clients and right-of-way vegetation management programs.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems and digital inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of California and/or Pacific Northwest vegetation management regulations.
  • Prior experience managing audits, compliance reviews, or customer escalations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Hybrid work environment consisting of both field and administrative duties.
  • Extensive outdoor fieldwork in varying terrain and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, uneven ground).
  • Frequent travel within assigned service territories; occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Physically demanding role requiring walking long distances, standing for extended periods, and navigating rugged environments.
  • Fast-paced, production-driven environment with variable schedules depending on project demands; extended hours may be required during peak seasons.
