Job Description

WHO is Sound Generations?

We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.

We are currently seeking a Temporary Facilities Manager to join our Facilities team in Seattle, Washington.

What will YOU do?

The Facilities Manager is responsible for general maintenance and repairs for the Lillian Rice building, including Belltown apartments and the Warehouse. Administers janitorial, landscaping and maintenance related contracts.

Pay Rate: $35.67 per hour.

Work Schedule: It’s a temporary position, Monday to Friday: 40 hours/week.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks including minor electrical and plumbing, replacing HVAC system filters, making HVAC system adjustments and troubleshooting other building systems for assigned facilities.
  • Set up and administer janitorial, landscaping and other maintenance related contracts. Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Develop preventative maintenance plans, select vendors and implement building maintenance, repair and renovation projects for assigned facilities.
  • Ensure the agency is in compliance with fire and safety regulations. Serve as the first point of contact if the fire or security systems are activated.
  • Oversee access control, keycard, and key management services.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate communication regarding interruptions of service, planned shutdowns, etc.
  • Develop a collaborative and effective team in a healthy work environment. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned employees.
  • Gather, collate, and analyze data. Create and distribute reports.
  • Participate in mandatory program and organizational activities, meetings and trainings.
  • Requirements:

    You must have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience performing general repairs, including but not limited to plumbing and electrical.
