Role Description:
Join a growing leader in manufacturing hardware solutions for specialty vehicles, service vehicles, data enclosures, and commercial equipment. We're looking for a Production Supervisor to lead one of our manufacturing teams. Core Responsibilities:
- Train and manage production employees (Union/Non-Union) on the assigned shift
- Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift
- Communicate effectively to first / second shift any notes or requirements that will affect production or shipments
- Lock up and secure building at shift end
- Oversee production operations on assigned shift
- Prepare work schedules to ensure efficient operations, including overtime if needed
- Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment: Stamping, Machining and Assembly
- Ensure that products are identified, weighed, and warehoused correctly
- Troubleshoot issues that arise
- Notify maintenance department of equipment problems
- Ensure that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ensure accuracy of all labor and inventory reporting
- Ensure companies quality procedures are adhered to
- Responsible for the shift completion and proper reporting of all work orders per schedule and priority list
- Maintain order and discipline in accordance with established Plant Rules and Policies
- Monitor and maintain departmental goals (KPIS’s) i.e. % Direct and Efficiency Rate
- Make sure all people in your department has the tools to do the job efficiently and safely
- Make sure all departments are following 5s program, work areas are neat and clean
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 5 – 10 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing setting
- Stamping experience specifically with single hit and progressive dies, and 30 to 600-ton presses
- Machining experience (i.e. drilling, tapping, broaching, and milling)
- Experience with shipping department functions
- Experience with ISO 9001 – Current / ISO 14001
- OSHA knowledge and Safety Awareness
Minimum Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong Technical Aptitude
- Strong knowledge of plant operations systems ERP, (i.e. MRP / Routings) and Quality Policy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
