RN - Radiology Sedation Infusion Nurse in Norfolk, Virginia at Childrens Hospital of The King's Daughters

Performs a wide variety of patient care activities, accommodative services, and administrative functions to support the medical care of patients and families.

Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures.

Provides support to orientation and training of staff.

Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family, and staff education.

Demonstrates effective use of time and resources.

Performs other duties as assigned

Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.

RN specialty certification preferred (CPN, CCRN etc).

CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

PEARS training required within 90 days of employment.

PALS training required within 6 months of hire.

Nurses who assist with cardiac procedures are required to obtain ACLS training within 12 months of hire.

Pediatric experience preferred.

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.
