Job Description
Gratiot Integrated Health Network (GIHN) is seeking a full-time School-Based Mental Health Therapist to provide 31n behavioral health services within the Gratiot County school system. This is a school-based, in-person position dedicated to supporting students' mental health and overall well-being through direct clinical services, collaboration with school staff, crisis intervention, and engagement with families.
This is a 100% school-based position serving students within assigned school districts. Responsibilities include providing individual, group, and family therapy, consulting with educators and school personnel, participating in multidisciplinary teams, supporting prevention and intervention efforts, and responding to behavioral health crises within the school setting.
This is a 10-month position that follows the Gratiot County school calendar. For the upcoming school year, the position begins August 17 (the week prior to the start of the school year) and concludes June 11 (the week following the end of the school year).

SALARY RANGE: $50,613 – $71,707.50
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt/Salary, 10 month position (paid over 12 months)
The School-Based Therapist is responsible for providing 31n Grant services within the school setting to children receiving mental health services. The therapist provides assessment, individual, group, and family therapy, consultation with school personnel, crisis intervention, care coordination, and collaboration with families and community partners to support students' behavioral health needs and academic success.The successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and use of evidence-based approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of trauma, as well as the social, cultural, and economic diversity of the population served. The therapist actively supports person-centered planning and integrated care.
Employment Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling required.
- Current Michigan licensure appropriate to professional degree (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, or LPC).
Other Requirements
- Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with agency, Medicaid, and professional standards.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License required for travel between school buildings, meetings, and other work-related activities.
- Successful completion of criminal and driving background checks.
