Duties

    • Facilitate workflow discovery discussions, document decisions and requirements, and ensure proposed solutions align with patient care, regulatory, quality, and operational needs.
    • Provide informatics expertise to support clinical decision-making, documentation standards, order and result workflows, interdisciplinary communication, and patient safety.
    • Evaluate requested changes for workflow impact, usability, downstream dependencies, adoption risk, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Epic Build Validation, Testing, and Implementation
    • Collaborate with Epic application teams to translate operational requirements into system configuration and to validate that Epic build supports approved workflows.
    • Develop and execute test scripts for unit, integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing; document results, track issues, and confirm resolution before deployment.
    • Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, enhancements, system changes, and go-live readiness activities, including deployment planning, command center support, and stabilization.

    • Register all new hires for EpicU training on the day of NEO. For employees who choose to test out, add the required validation to ensure proper setup.
    • Validate and create Epic access for all non-employee vendors.

    • Identify adoption barriers and coordinate education, support, and workflow improvement efforts.
  • Optimization and Continuous Improvement
    • Use end-user feedback, support trends, operational metrics, quality indicators, and Epic utilization data to identify opportunities for workflow and system optimization.
    • Lead or support optimization initiatives from intake and assessment through prioritization, design, testing, implementation, measurement, and sustainment.
    • Collaborate with governance groups to evaluate enhancement requests, clarify business value, identify dependencies, and support capacity-aware prioritization.
    • Monitor outcomes following implementation and recommend adjustments to improve adoption, efficiency, data quality, patient safety, and value realization.
    • End-User Support and Issue Resolution
    • Provide responsive end-user support for Epic workflow and application questions; triage issues and distinguish training, workflow, access, device, interface, system-build concerns and JIRA Tickets when applicable.
    • Partner with the service desk, nurse informaticist, IT Support, and vendors to investigate, escalate, resolve, and communicate issues within established service expectations.
