Job Description
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Assistant General Manager in leading all food and beverage operations throughout Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, ensuring exceptional member experiences, financial success, and operational excellence. This position provides daily leadership to restaurant, bar, banquet, beverage, and service operations while developing managers and employees through coaching, accountability, and continuous training.
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is expected to lead by example, uphold the Club's standards of hospitality, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure that every member and guest receives an exceptional experience consistent with Grand Harbor's reputation for excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
• Assist the Assistant General Manager in overseeing all food and beverage operations at both the Main Clubhouse and Beach Club.
• Supervise and mentor Food & Beverage Managers, Banquet Managers, Outlet Managers, Supervisors, and front-of-house team members.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional member service.
• Lead by example through active floor presence during service periods.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings and daily pre-shift lineups.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
• Ensure compliance with all Grand Harbor policies and procedures.
Member Experience
• Build positive relationships with members and guests through visible engagement.
• Address member concerns promptly and professionally.
• Continuously evaluate service standards and implement improvements.
• Monitor dining room operations to ensure exceptional hospitality and consistency.
Operations
• Coordinate daily operations across all food and beverage outlets.
• Ensure smooth execution of member dining, tournaments, banquets, weddings, and club events.
• Maintain proper staffing levels based on business demand.
• Monitor reservation flow, service timing, and labor deployment.
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all dining areas.
Financial Management
• Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets.
• Monitor labor costs and scheduling to achieve productivity goals.
• Review daily sales reports, labor reports, and operating metrics.
• Assist in inventory control and beverage cost management.
• Support purchasing procedures while minimizing waste.
Employee Development
• Coach managers and supervisors in leadership, communication, and operational excellence.
• Conduct performance evaluations and establish measurable goals.
• Identify training opportunities to improve service consistency.
• Promote employee engagement and recognition.
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with all health department regulations.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and accident prevention.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local employment regulations.
Communication
• Serve as a liaison between Food & Beverage operations and other departments.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Membership, Golf, Tennis, Lifestyle, Events, and Human Resources.
• Communicate operational updates and event details effectively.

Credentials And Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive Food & Beverage management experience.
• Previous private club, resort, country club, or luxury hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, labor management, and cost controls.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
