Job Description
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, maintains and repairs grounds' irrigation systems, including modification of existing systems and assisting in the planning, cost estimating, and installation of new systems. May maintain sprinkler heads, make minor repairs to sprinkler heads, helps set clocks on automatic control devices in assigned areas of the hospital on an occasional basis, and may occasionally assist in specialized irrigation system maintenance work. The position will also perform Groundskeeper duties and drive pick-ups and other automotive equipment in the performance of assigned duties. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates the ability to operate standard ground's equipment (mowers, weed eaters, edgers, trimmers) to provide an appealing ground's appearance.
- Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and maintain irrigation systems, including replacement/repair of sprinkler heads, controllers, and valves.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school or vocational school graduate required. General knowledge of sprinkler control devices and irrigation equipment is required, as well as a thorough knowledge of the mechanical principles of sprinkler equipment.
Work Experience:
At least two years of experience in comparable work is required.
Certification/Licensure—DUE UPON HIRE

- Maintain a Good Driving Record
