Job Description
A. Basic Company Requirements
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures Read and understand written procedures (in English) for maintenance on equipmentFollow written and verbal instructions from supervision, management, and engineeringComplete basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)Know and comply with all attendance policies and procedures
- Don Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and effectively Read and understand a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to identify hazards of handling chemicalsSafely work around solvents (such as methanol), acids (such as nitric acid), and bases (such as 50% sodium hydroxide) or other hazardous or potentially hazardous chemicalsUnderstand and adhere to company emergency procedures Complete monthly and annual safety training on time (in person and computer-based)Report all spills, leaks, injuries, mischarges, and other incidents immediately to the Supervisor and/or management Report all unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor and/or managementUnderstand policies and procedures for line breaks, hot work, Lock Out/Tag Out, and confined space Protect the environment to prevent ground, water, and air pollution
- Observing all Company policies and procedure, rules and regulations and perform all duties assigned by management in a safe, efficient, and courteous mannerPossessing a thorough knowledge of safety, equipment operating, and maintenance proceduresPerforming all duties set forth and assigned in the “Work Instructions” contained within the Company’s Quality Management SystemTroubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing process equipment including, but not limited to, vessels, reactors, storage tanks, heating and cooling systems, vacuum pumps, diaphragm pumps, motors, gear boxes, valves, lift trucks, and various industrial utilities systemsPerforming preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled Inspecting all repair work to ensure the proper and timely completion of assigned tasksProviding notification and documentation of work completions Immediately reporting any corrective or preventive action concerns Ensuring that the repair request is adequately described and documentedAssist in maintaining an inventory list and ensuring adequate stocks of replacement parts and supplies that are routinely used in site maintenance and repairsClean up spills and properly dispose of any waste Responding to all “on-call” status when neededEnsuring that supervisors are notified in a timely and informative manner when repairs have been completedPerform other duties as assigned by supervision
- High School Diploma and/or GED At least 3 years previous knowledge and experience maintaining plant equipment including, but not limited to: vessels, reactors, storage tanks, vacuum pumps, diaphragm pumps, motors, gear boxes, valves, lift trucks, and various industrial utility systemsAbility to safely handle and maneuver objects up to 60 lbs.Ability to wear full-face respiratorsAvailability outside normal working hours for ‘on-call’ workAbility to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
