As a Staff Web Automation Engineer, you will lead the development and evolution of automation strategies that ensure high-quality software delivery. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and quality teams to improve testing practices, build scalable solutions, and strengthen system reliability.
- Lead the implementation of comprehensive test automation strategies across multiple testing layers, including unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize automated testing frameworks and tools to improve product quality and engineering efficiency.
- Partner with engineering teams to increase test coverage, improve system testability, and promote best practices in software development.
- Develop and maintain web automation solutions using modern frameworks and technologies.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous validation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, analyze failures, debug defects, and validate solutions before and after releases.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing guidance on building modular, scalable, and testable systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality risks and deliver reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating existing processes, frameworks, and automation opportunities.
- Act as a technical leader and mentor, promoting quality engineering practices across teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced automation engineer with strong programming skills, a deep understanding of quality engineering methodologies, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges in large-scale environments.
- 8+ years of professional experience in software testing, quality engineering, and test automation.
- Strong programming experience in at least one language such as TypeScript or JavaScript, with strong scripting abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of test automation methodologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience with web automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Buildkite, Spinnaker, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git-based workflows.
- Ability to design solutions for ambiguous and complex problems involving multiple systems and teams.
- Excellent debugging, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute to high-impact technical initiatives.
