What You'll Be DoingEvery day is different, but you can expect to:
Help veterinarians and technicians provide exceptional patient care
Gather patient histories, obtain vitals, and prepare pets for their appointments
Assist with exams, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, and hospitalized patient care
Collect lab samples, run in-house diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
Prepare and dispense medications with accuracy and attention to detail
Take radiographs while following proper safety procedures
?? Comfort nervous pets (and sometimes their humans)
Educate clients on preventive care, medications, vaccines, surgery aftercare, nutrition, and wellness plans
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery, and the hospital clean, organized, and ready for the next patient
Help maintain inventory so we're always prepared

Requirements: What You'll BringMinimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Veterinary Assistant certification is a plus but not required.
- Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we're happy to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll help keep our hospital running smoothly by:
- Providing exceptional care to every patient and client.
- Anticipating the needs of our doctors and technicians.
- Assisting with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and patient recovery.
- Performing venipuncture, laboratory work, radiographs, blood pressure, ECGs, and other approved procedures.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate medical records and invoices.
- Discharging patients and educating owners on medications, treatment plans, and home care.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment.
- Keeping exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery, and equipment stocked and ready.
- Following all hospital, OSHA, DEA, radiation safety, and infection control protocols.
- Supporting your teammates wherever needed because we succeed together.
No two days look exactly the same—and that's one of the best parts of veterinary medicine!
Physical RequirementsVeterinary medicine is an active career! Team members should be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and lift.
- Safely lift and assist with patients weighing up to 50 pounds independently (heavier patients with team assistance).
- Safely restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Perform repetitive movements such as typing, lifting, reaching, and handling equipment.
Let's be honest... veterinary medicine isn't always glamorous—but it's incredibly rewarding.
You'll regularly work around:
- Dogs, cats, and occasionally patients who aren't thrilled to see us.
- Blood, urine, feces, vomit, and other biological materials.
- Medical equipment, needles, radiology equipment, and anesthesia.
- Cleaning and disinfecting products.
- Loud noises, barking dogs, and meowing cats.
- Occasionally stressed or emotional clients.
