Responsibilities

• Under the direction of Clinical Supervisors, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Coordinators performs receptionist, processor(Core, Microbiology or Anatomic Pathology), and phlebotomist duties to serve patients with compassion and empathy.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages
• Properly label, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory to ensure integrity and accuracy
• Communicate professionally with nursing staff, physicians, and lab personnel regarding specimen needs or issues
• Communicate effectively with clinical departments to resolve registration or order issues
• Accurately enter and verify patient and specimen data
• Provide courteous, professional service to the patients and families
• Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and hospital safety regulations at all times

Experience

• 1 yr phlebotomy experience -REQUIRED
• Specimen processing-PREFERRED

License/Certification/Education

• High school Diploma or Equivalent-REQUIRED
