Position Summary
The Medical Director provides clinical and operational leadership for the practice, ensuring high standards of patient care while overseeing workflow efficiency, staffing alignment, and team performance. This role bridges clinical oversight with organizational leadership, partnering closely with ownership, HR, and finance to support sustainable growth and quality outcomes.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily clinical operations and uphold standards of care
- Overse provider schedules to ensure patient access and appropriate coverage
- Support physicians and advanced practice providers with workflow and operational challenges
- Promote continuity of care across providers
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and quality initiatives
Human Resources Collaboration & Staff Management
· Conduct performance evaluations, including onboarding and 90-day reviews
· Participate in hiring, interviewing, and selection of staff and clinicians
· Address workplace and professionalism concerns in collaboration with office manager
· Support corrective action processes and performance improvement plans
· Facilitate conflict resolution among clinical team
Policy, Compliance & Workflow
- Develop and implement clinical and operational policies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards
- Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and care delivery
Financial & Strategic Collaboration
- Collaborate with ownership and CFO regarding staff utilization and operational costs
- Provide clinical insight into staffing models and compensation structures
- Oversee billing, coding and labor cost
Leadership & Communication
- Serve as liaison between clinical staff and practice leadership
- Communicate operational expectations and changes clearly to staff
- Support organizational change initiatives and foster a collaborative clinical culture
Patient Care Experience & Community Standards
· Deliver an exceptional, compassionate patient experience by ensuring every interaction is welcoming, respectful, and supportive from scheduling through follow-up care.
· Champion clear, consistent communication across all touchpoints so patients receive timely updates, understandable guidance, and a seamless care journey.
· Uphold evidence-based clinical standards to provide safe, high-quality care aligned with best practices and community health guidelines.
