This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chef d'équipe, Analytique financière et optimisation IA/ML based in Canada.
This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of finance, data engineering, and applied AI, responsible for shaping how financial and business performance is measured, analyzed, and optimized at scale. You will lead the strategy and execution of financial data infrastructure, including warehousing, BI, and AI-driven automation across finance workflows. Acting as a key partner to senior leadership, you will translate complex datasets into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions across the organization. The role blends hands-on technical depth with team leadership, requiring both architectural vision and practical execution. You will build and scale systems that power financial truth, cost optimization, and intelligent forecasting. Operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, you will also define how AI is embedded into finance operations end-to-end.
You will lead the end-to-end design and evolution of financial data platforms, ensuring robust governance, reliability, and scalability of data infrastructure powering finance and business reporting. You will define and execute the strategy for data warehousing, BI systems, and financial data pipelines, establishing a single source of truth for performance measurement.
- Drive the architecture, governance, and execution of financial data warehouse systems and associated pipelines
- Build and lead a center of excellence for financial reporting, analytics, and performance measurement across business units
- Develop and operationalize an AI-driven finance automation roadmap in collaboration with FP&A, accounting, and data teams
- Oversee GCP infrastructure cost optimization (FinOps) in partnership with engineering and infrastructure stakeholders
- Design and implement data pipelines, analytics frameworks, and foundational models supporting AI-enabled finance use cases
- Establish instrumentation standards, KPI definitions, and self-service analytics capabilities for stakeholders
- Lead identity, reconciliation, and data quality initiatives to ensure accuracy across multi-source financial datasets
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and finance/strategy professionals, driving execution and technical excellence
- Implement internal controls and support audit readiness and external compliance requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to deliver insights that influence strategic and operational decisions
You bring extensive experience in data, analytics, and engineering leadership within high-scale environments, with a strong foundation in finance or financial data systems. You are highly technical and comfortable working hands-on with data infrastructure while also operating at a strategic leadership level. You combine deep analytical thinking with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- 15+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related technical finance/data leadership roles, ideally within SaaS or travel environments
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience)
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, and GCP, with the ability to actively contribute to code and data systems
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, analytics engineering, and financial data modeling at scale
- Experience building or leading AI/ML-enabled analytics systems, including familiarity with LLMs, prompt design, and evaluation frameworks
- Proven experience with BI and observability tools such as Looker, Amplitude, and Datadog
- Strong background in data reconciliation, large-scale datasets, and multi-source data integration
- Experience leading teams of engineers and technical contributors in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong first-principles thinking with the ability to challenge assumptions and redesign systems from the ground up
- Excellent communication skills, with experience influencing senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders
