About Linkly
Linkly is a PE-backed, Australian fintech focusing on payment integration solutions. We are a leading provider in ecommerce recurring billing, and our middleware powers over 200,000 terminals and processes over two billion transactions annually. Our applications support over 800 integrations into POS solutions. We have built our reputation through seamless integration of payment terminals and POS systems and are continuing to innovate in creating a terminal and acquirer independent payment solicitor for in-store. Our clients include major banks and retailers such as Woolworths, David Jones, JB Hi-Fi, and Bunnings.
Our goal is to continuously lead the payments industry with new technology delivering value to clients, which who include merchants, banks, acquirers and POS vendors, expanding our presence into other regions.
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely influential product leadership role at the centre of Australian payments. As CPO, you will own Linkly's product vision and execution across in-store payments, online payments, data products and value-added services.
The immediate priority is establishing clear direction and driving execution across several critical programmes: MPOS2 specifications, Cloud onboarding evolution, PayApp migration and the expansion of Linkly's data and API capabilities. You will be equally comfortable shaping long-term strategy and rolling up your sleeves to unblock complex delivery challenges.
This role requires a product leader who thrives in highly technical environments, working closely with Engineering, Delivery and Operations to navigate technical debt, balance competing priorities and translate complexity into real customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Leadership
- Define and execute Linkly's product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap across in-store, online, data and value-added services.
- Build a product investment framework that balances customer needs, technical sustainability, regulatory requirements and commercial returns.
- Partner with the Executive Team and Board on strategy, growth initiatives and investment priorities.
- Build and lead a high-performing product organisation with clear accountability and career development.
Product Portfolio Management
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across Linkly's portfolio, from discovery through to delivery, adoption and optimisation.
- Drive prioritisation across competing customer, operational and strategic demands.
- Establish product management disciplines, governance frameworks and success metrics.
- Ensure alignment between product strategy, engineering capacity and commercial objectives.
In-Store Payments Leadership
- Lead product direction for Linkly's in-store ecosystem, including terminal integrations, cloud-based solutions and merchant experiences.
- Own strategic decision-making across MPOS2 specifications, Cloud onboarding evolution, PayApp migration and platform modernisation.
- Partner with Engineering to address technical debt without sacrificing product momentum or customer value.
- Ensure in-store products continue to serve the needs of merchants, banks, acquirers and POS vendors.
Online Payments, Data and Innovation
- Drive the ongoing evolution of MerchantSuite, BPOINT and related online payment capabilities.
- Lead Linkly's data strategy, including data products, reporting and API offerings.
- Identify and develop value-added services that leverage Linkly's unique position in the payment ecosystem.
- Explore new revenue streams, partnerships and market expansion opportunities.
Customer and Market Engagement
- Build strong relationships with key customers, banks, acquirers, POS partners and strategic stakeholders.
- Act as the executive voice of the customer, ensuring product decisions are grounded in market needs.
- Represent Linkly in customer engagements, industry forums and strategic partner discussions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Sales, Client Services and Marketing to deliver successful product outcomes.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial outcomes for executives, customers and investors.
- Support go-to-market planning, product launches and customer adoption initiatives.
Commercial Performance
- Own product revenue growth, customer adoption and commercial performance metrics.
- Develop business cases and investment proposals for major product initiatives.
- Balance innovation, technical sustainability and profitability in product decision-making.
What You'll Need
- 15+ years of product leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility for complex technology products.
- Proven success leading product organisations within payments, fintech, software platforms or adjacent regulated environments.
- Deep understanding of payment ecosystems: merchants, acquirers, banks, gateways, terminals and integrations.
- Strong technical product capability, able to engage credibly on architecture, APIs, integrations and technical debt.
- Experience balancing strategic innovation with platform modernisation and operational priorities.
- Commercially minded, with a track record of delivering revenue growth, customer value and measurable business outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, including experience with executive teams, Boards, customers and investors.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.
