Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development, growth, and evaluation of the BSN program through excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and student-centered academic leadership.

This position supports the School of Nursing's strategic priorities related to program quality, student success, licensure readiness, inclusive excellence, simulation and technology integration, accreditation readiness, community engagement, and faculty scholarship. The faculty member will teach primarily in the BSN program and will contribute to the preparation of undergraduate nursing students for safe, ethical, evidence based, compassionate, and equity centered professional nursing practice.

The School of Nursing seeks a scholar educator who is committed to high quality teaching, meaningful student engagement, a focused and sustainable program of scholarship, and service to the School, College, University, profession, and community. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the preparation of nurses who are equipped to advance health equity.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
  1. Provide high quality didactic, clinical, and laboratory instruction primarily in the BSN program, with attention to clinical judgment, safe nursing practice, inclusive teaching, and student progression toward licensure readiness.
  2. Engage in course development, course revision, syllabus preparation, instructional design, competency-based teaching strategies, assessment of student learning outcomes, and use of educational technologies that support student success.
  3. Contribute to BSN program quality through participation in accreditation related activities, systematic evaluation, course assessment, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement processes.
  4. Support student success initiatives, including progression support, remediation, clinical judgment development, NCLEX readiness, and evaluation of learning outcomes.
  5. Serve as lead faculty for assigned courses as appropriate and provide mentorship, guidance, and support to adjunct faculty teaching within the BSN program.
  6. Develop and maintain a focused, sustainable program of scholarship appropriate to a tenure track appointment, including peer reviewed dissemination, presentations, and pursuit of internal or external funding as appropriate.
  7. Advise and mentor undergraduate nursing students in support of academic progression, professional formation, belonging, and preparation for nursing practice.
  8. Serve on School, College, and University committees and contribute to shared governance, strategic initiatives, and the ongoing advancement of the School of Nursing.
  9. Demonstrate leadership within the School of Nursing, College of Science and Health, University, profession, and community through teaching, scholarship, service, and engagement.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
  • Graduate degree in nursing if the doctoral degree is in a related field
  • Current RN license in Illinois, or eligibility for Illinois RN licensure with application in process by the time of appointment
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience
  • Evidence of potential for effective teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate to a tenure track faculty appointment
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience teaching BSN or prelicensure nursing students
  • Teaching or clinical expertise in medical surgical nursing, pediatrics, community or public health, maternal child health, mental health, or another area aligned with BSN curricular needs
  • Experience with laboratory teaching, clinical judgment development, competency-based education, or educational technology
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity, including peer reviewed publications, presentations, funded projects, or a developing research agenda
  • Experience with accreditation, curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, NCLEX readiness, or continuous quality improvement
  • Commitment to health equity and interprofessional education

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar:
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).

Salary Information: The salary range for this 10-month position is $80,600 - $93,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
