Faculty - Lecturer - Exercise Science (Lecturer Track) at Saint Xavier University – Chicago, Illinois

Founded in 1847 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is the oldest Catholic Institution in Chicago. Saint Xavier University seeks applicants for a full-time 9-month Instructor/Assistant Professor of Exercise Science.
The objective of the Exercise Science program is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical application necessary for today’s entry-level health science careers. The Exercise Science program is part of the National Strength and Conditioning Associations Educational Recognized Program (ERP) in which students will establish evidence-based practices, scientific knowledge, and practical work experience to bridge the gap between science and application. Program faculty are expected to work collaboratively with each other, faculty outside of the program, and community partners.

• Teach in undergraduate and graduate Health Sciences program
• Serve as an advisor to students in undergraduate and graduate Health Sciences
• Participate in scholarship
• Provide service to the University, community, and profession
• Preform other duties as designated by the De4an and/or Director of Exercise Science

1. Ph.D. preferred a minimum of a master’s degree
2. Degree within health sciences
3. Experience with teaching in higher education or equivalent experience in a practical setting
4. Certification of ACSM or NSCA is preferred
5. Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Excel, and Outlook
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands:
Nearly continuously: sitting, hearing, listening, talking, and interacting with students, faculty, staff, and other constituents across the University.
