Construction Superintendent

ICG Construction & Landscaping
Reno, Nevada | Full-Time | Immediate Opening

$80,000–$100,000 DOE | Company Truck | Gas Card | Company Cell Phone & iPad

Lead the Field. Build with Purpose.

ICG Construction & Landscaping is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations across our residential and commercial construction projects.

We are a growing, full-service construction company specializing in custom homes, remodels, additions, ADUs, commercial tenant improvements, renovations, and a wide variety of construction services.

We're looking for a strong field leader who knows how to get projects completed efficiently, maintain exceptional workmanship, and keep employees and subcontractors organized, productive, and accountable.

This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership position—not a traditional office-based Project Manager role.

The ideal candidate has extensive construction knowledge, takes initiative, communicates clearly, and understands how to oversee multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedules, and budgets.

About the Position

As our Construction Superintendent, you will oversee daily field operations, coordinate employees and subcontractors, monitor project progress, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to ICG's quality standards.

This position may also serve as a Working Superintendent role. Depending on company workload and project needs, you may be responsible for directly managing and actively working on your own assigned construction projects while also providing supervision, coordination, and quality oversight across other active job sites.

This means you should be equally comfortable leading crews in the field, performing hands-on construction work when needed, and overseeing multiple projects to ensure they stay on track.

You will work closely with ownership, project managers, estimators, and our office team to ensure projects have the manpower, materials, equipment, information, and direction needed to move forward successfully.

You will spend most of your time in the field, visiting job sites, supervising construction activities, checking workmanship, coordinating trades, and resolving issues before they become costly problems.

This position requires someone who can see the big picture while also being willing and able to jump in and help get the work done.

Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Supervision
  • Oversee daily field operations across multiple residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Directly manage assigned projects while providing oversight of other active job sites.
  • Serve as a Working Superintendent when needed, including performing hands-on construction work and assisting crews to keep projects progressing.

  • Communicate schedule changes and project needs to ownership and the office team.
  • Balance responsibilities between directly managing assigned projects and overseeing other active construction projects.
Quality Control & Construction Oversight

  • Coordinate material ordering and deliveries with the appropriate team members.
  • Monitor labor productivity and efficient use of company resources.

  • Identify unforeseen conditions, scope discrepancies, and potential additional work.
  • Communicate possible change orders before additional work proceeds.
  • Monitor project budgets and report potential cost overruns.
  • Work closely with ownership and accounting to help maintain project profitability.
  • Ensure subcontractors complete their assigned work according to approved scopes and expectations.
Communication & Buildertrend Documentation
  • Maintain regular communication with ownership, project managers, estimators, and office staff.
  • Provide clear updates regarding construction progress, staffing, schedules, and field challenges.
  • Utilize Buildertrend to maintain daily logs, job-site photos, progress updates, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure important project information is communicated and documented promptly.
  • Coordinate with office personnel regarding upcoming inspections, scheduling needs, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding job-site activities, access, and construction-related questions.
  • Identify problems early and communicate practical solutions.
  • Assist in improving field procedures, construction processes, and overall company efficiency.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of job-site safety, inspections, and building requirements.
  • Ability to identify construction issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using construction management software and mobile technology for field documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable under company vehicle requirements.

  • Custom home construction experience.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software.
  • Strong hands-on trade or general contracting background.
  • Experience working for a general contractor across multiple project types.

  • Material takeoff and estimating experience.
  • OSHA certification.
  • Experience improving crew productivity and field operations.
