Home Health Aide in Bloomer, Wisconsin at Bloomer I & II - VitaCare Living

Our busy home health agency is rapidly growing and we’re seeking an experienced home health aide to assist us in providing superior in-home health care to our clients. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organization and communication skills, and 1-3 years of experience working as an HHA or caregiver. You’ll assist our patients with companionship, basic medical care, light housekeeping duties, personal care, and hygiene tasks so that they are empowered to live happily at home. $17 - $19 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Stay on top of light housekeeping tasks including but not limited to laundry, bed making, vacuuming, etc.
• Oversee medication tasks such as opening bottles, organizing self-administered dosing and arranging refills; and assist with meal preparation and planning
• Implement ambulation methods, and assist patients in completing physical therapy and exercises as indicated in the care plan
• Travel with patients to health care service providers, doctors’ offices, grocery stores, or for other errands, as needed
• Complete basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs, measuring glucose and ketone levels, replacing bandages and dressings, and ensuring the proper use of medical devices

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, you may be required to stoop, bend, reach, and transfer patients up to 250 lbs as needed
• Pass a full employment background check, drug test, and physical, and possess current CPR certification and first aid training
• Over one year of experience as a personal caregiver, HHA/ home health aide, personal care aid, or nursing assistant for a home health agency, at patient homes, or care facilities settings is vital
• Completion of home health aide training programs from community colleges are acceptable - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is a plus
• A valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance is required
