Role: This role is responsible for researching and resolving overdraft and negative balance accounts, processing payments and transactions, and ensuring timely account resolution in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Summary of Responsibilities:
- Research negative accounts (courtesy pay data) for validity and cause
- Complete Daily SWBC Collection File
- Negotiate settlements with members and agencies. Develop a repayment plan when possible
- Process member loan payments/transfers, and restitution checks
- Process Agency payments to GL’s and recovery spreadsheets
- Process settlement and debt management requests
- Process court document requests and forms for restitutions
- Completes indirect monthly summary report
- Close negative accounts per policy/procedure. Send appropriate correspondence to members. Outbound phone calls to recover funds on negative accounts and unpaid ODP balances.
- Complete “ChexSystems” charge offs and updates
- Assist with collection and recovery of expenses and losses
- Back-up to collection incoming calls.
- Review reimbursements for member accounts, forward to EFT for processing.
- Prepare and review periodic reports and emails timely and accurately. Responds or takes appropriate action to information received
- Remain compliant with all appropriate laws
- Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/ Anti-Money laundering programs, USA Patriot Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 8:45 am - 5:45 pm
- Some Saturday's (after 90 days).
- Remote work is available after three months (Hybrid).
Skills/ Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of similar or related experience.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Proficient in excel and able to create spreadsheets, calculations and tables.
- Professional written and verbal communication required.
- Must be proficient to operate 10-key calculator; and computer literate with Microsoft programs
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, sound and consistent judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, The Fact Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunities Act
