POSITION SUMMARY
Nexio Power is seeking motivated college students interested in gaining hands-on experience within an innovative startup manufacturing environment focused on the design, development, and production of advanced commercial vehicle technologies.
Interns will work alongside experienced engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations professionals while participating in structured projects that support engineering documentation, manufacturing readiness, process improvement, and technical documentation.
Students will gain exposure to engineering workflows, manufacturing systems, product development processes, startup operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration while developing professional engineering skills applicable to careers in advanced manufacturing.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Engineering Documentation, Manufacturing Readiness & Continuous Improvement
Project Purpose
The primary internship project provides students with practical experience supporting engineering documentation and manufacturing readiness activities associated with scaling an advanced vehicle manufacturer from prototype development into commercial production.
Students will work directly with engineering mentors to understand how engineering documentation, quality systems, manufacturing planning, and continuous improvement initiatives contribute to successful product development and manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern may participate in supervised educational activities including:
Engineering Documentation
Organize engineering drawing libraries.Assist with engineering document indexing.Review engineering file structures.Assist with engineering revision history organization.Develop engineering document reference guides.Support document control initiatives.Assist with engineering record organization.Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for documentation consistency.Observe Engineering Change Notice (ECN) workflows.Assist in standardizing engineering documentation.Manufacturing Engineering Support
Observe prototype build activities.Document manufacturing workflows.Create manufacturing process maps.Develop visual work instruction concepts.Assist with manufacturing readiness documentation.Observe engineering validation activities.Document engineering-to-production workflows.Support startup manufacturing initiatives.Continuous Improvement
Working alongside engineering personnel, interns may:
Evaluate engineering workflows.Develop process maps.Recommend documentation improvements.Assist with standard work documentation.Support visual management initiatives.Identify opportunities for workflow improvements.Document engineering communication processes.Participate in continuous improvement discussions.Technical Documentation
