Creative Studio Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Creative Studio Manager based in Canada.

The Creative Studio Manager will play a key role in driving the operational success of a creative team supporting impactful healthcare and life sciences communications.
This position combines creative operations, project management, and team coordination to ensure high-quality work is delivered efficiently and consistently.
You will manage workflows, optimize processes, and provide the structure needed for designers and creative partners to deliver exceptional results.
The role requires a strong understanding of creative production, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
As a central connector between creative, client-facing, and operational teams, you will help transform ideas into successful deliverables.

Accountabilities:

The Creative Studio Manager is responsible for overseeing daily creative operations, improving production workflows, and ensuring projects move smoothly from initial brief through final delivery. This role provides operational leadership to creative teams while supporting collaboration, efficiency, and consistent quality across projects.

  • Manage daily operations of the creative team, ensuring projects are assigned, tracked, prioritized, and delivered according to timelines.
  • Oversee creative production workflows by ensuring designers and external partners have the resources, direction, and support needed to produce high-quality work.
  • Coordinate team capacity and resource allocation by understanding individual skill sets and aligning talent with project needs.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new team members and freelance creative resources.
  • Develop and improve systems, processes, and best practices that enhance creative team efficiency and delivery quality.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve production challenges, and implement solutions to maintain deadlines.
  • Act as a key liaison between creative teams, client engagement, project management, scientific services, digital teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Review creative deliverables before final approval to ensure alignment with quality standards and project expectations.
  • Partner with project management teams to establish deliverables, evaluate progress, manage resources, and support budget considerations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and creative partners to ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, including tools and software solutions that improve collaboration and productivity.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced creative operations professional with a strong background in agency environments, project coordination, and team leadership. They should combine creative industry knowledge with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative setting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Fine Arts, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience working in a creative agency or similar environment, including at least 3 years in an operational or managerial capacity.
  • Strong understanding of creative production processes, workflows, and project delivery standards.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and supporting cross-functional creative teams.
  • Ability to manage resources, timelines, budgets, priorities, and production requirements effectively.
  • Experience with creative software and tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of print and digital design standards and production requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain high-quality standards while managing deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary teams and external partners.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of approximately $78,000 to $114,000 CAD, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
