Job Summary
The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for reviewing plumbing cut sheets, isometric drawings, fabrication documentation, and related project deliverables to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and construction requirements. This position serves as the final quality review before documents are released for fabrication, procurement, or installation. This role works closely with the Chief engineering Quality Checker to identify discrepancies and maintain consistent documentation standards across all projects. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of plumbing systems, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Review
• Confirm documentation complies with AMPAM drafting standards and project requirements.
• Review isometric drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and consistency.
• Ensure project files are complete and properly organized before release.
• Validate that released documents accurately reflect approved engineering intent.
• Collaborate with construction engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies and improve document quality.
• Communicate review comments clearly and professionally.
Reporting & Accountability
• Promote consistency across all project deliverables.
• Monitor review turnaround times to support project schedules.
• Escalate recurring design or documentation issues to department leadership.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent construction experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing design, detailing, fabrication, or construction documentation.
• Experience reviewing plumbing construction documents required.
• Experience with multifamily or commercial construction projects preferred.Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, fittings, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret plumbing plans, isometric drawings, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
• Understanding fabrication workflows and construction sequencing is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn new production software and printing systems.
Soft Skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project reviews simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and proactive in identifying issues before they impact production.
• Collaborative team player committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality standards.
