The Director of the Perioperative Service Line provides strategic, operational, clinical, financial, and administrative leadership for perioperative services across the health system. The Director is responsible for developing and sustaining an integrated perioperative service line that includes Main Campus surgical services, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Endoscopy, Pain Management, Central Sterile Processing, and perioperative business operations.
The Director establishes the infrastructure, standards, and accountability necessary to operate these services as a coordinated system while recognizing the distinct operational and regulatory requirements of the hospital and ambulatory surgery center environments.
Working collaboratively with physician leaders, anesthesia, and other departments, the Director is accountable for safe, high-quality patient care, operational performance, workforce effectiveness, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, physician engagement, and strategic growth of the perioperative service line.
The Director provides leadership through departmental and site-based managers and is responsible for developing a leadership structure that supports appropriate local decision-making while advancing standardization and system integration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s degree required.
Required length and type of experience:
- Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services, including experience overseeing multiple departments, locations, and/or procedural environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative clinical practice, quality and patient safety, regulatory compliance, operations, workforce management, and financial management.
- Experience with both hospital-based surgical services and ambulatory surgery center operations preferred.
- Experience leading significant operational improvement, integration, or service-line development preferred.
Required licensure, certification or registry:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio required.
- CNOR, NEA-BC, CNML, CASC, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
