TRAINING cOORDINATOR
Summary
The Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and executing training and development activities within an assigned value stream. This role partners closely with Training Mentors, Supervisors, Team Leads, and Team Members to ensure employees receive effective onboarding, skill development, cross-training, and continuous learning support.
The Training Coordinator serves as a coach, mentor, and resource for employees throughout their learning journey. This position focuses on helping team members develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviors needed for success while ensuring they understand company policies, procedures, safety expectations, and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Training Program Execution
- Coordinate and execute the training structure within the assigned value stream.
- Ensure training plans, qualification processes, and training documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor employee training progress and provide updates to leaders and mentors.
- Support onboarding and integration of new hires into the value stream.
- Facilitate and coordinate cross-training opportunities to increase workforce flexibility.
- Maintain training records and skill matrices.
Coaching and Employee Development
- Act as a primary resource and coach for employees throughout the learning process.
- Build strong relationships with team members and provide ongoing support during training.
- Help employees understand job-related concepts, technical skills, and performance expectations.
- Identify learning barriers and work with supervisors and mentors to develop solutions.
- Reinforce positive learning habits and encourage continuous improvement and growth.
- Support employees in developing confidence and competence in their roles.
Mentor Partnership
- Collaborate with Training Mentors to ensure consistent training delivery and employee development.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Training Mentors.
- Ensure mentors are utilizing established training materials and processes.
- Gather feedback from mentors and trainees to improve training effectiveness.
Compliance, Safety, and Policy Education
- Ensure employees understand and follow safety requirements, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Assist team members in understanding company policies, work rules, and expectations.
- Reinforce a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support audits and compliance requirements related to training and qualifications.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to training processes and materials.
- Identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the value stream.
- Participate in value stream meetings and collaborate with leadership on workforce development initiatives.
- Support standardization of training practices across departments when applicable.
Qualifications
Education and Experience- Associate or bachelor's degree in education, Training & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or leading employees in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with structured training programs and skills development processes is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Effective coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to assess learning needs and adapt training approaches.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety requirements, and quality systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and training documentation systems.
