POSITION SUMMARY

The Life Enrichment Lead is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of activities that aim to promote the preservation and enrichment of each resident’s quality of life. Activities take place throughout each day and make every effort to meet resident needs and interests. This position carries out the activity care plan for each resident, which is integrated with the overall interdisciplinary resident care plan. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities:

Resident Activities –

• Familiar with the activity plan for each resident.

• Engage residents in meaningful activities and conduct such programs with enthusiasm as to encourage them to actively participate.

• Observe verbal and non-verbal resident response to activities and appropriately accommodate their needs.

• Interact fittingly and effectively in one-to-one activities according to the residents’ strengths and limitations.

• Assist residents to the programs and determine the suitability of activities for residents who are present.

• Create and maintain activity calendars, ensuring a balanced and appealing schedule.

• Coordinate logistics for events, including booking spaces, arranging transportation, and confirming vendors.

• Purchase and manage supplies for activities and events, staying within budget.

• Recommend changes to supervisor as needed.

• Keep records and documentation as necessary.

• Receive and share information, observe and report residents’ condition or behavior to the Life Enrichment Supervisor or licensed nurse.

Supporting Responsibilities –

• Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, walking, while taking measures to reduce falls, skin tears and skin breakdown.

• Assist residents at mealtimes, including distributing meal trays, pouring beverages and/or feeding residents in need of assistance.

• Assist residents to display calendars, pictures, cards, or other mementos.

• Deliver and read mail as needed.

• Help with putting up, taking down, and storing seasonal decorations.

• Maintain a tidy, clutter free environment.

• Maintain infection control practices

• Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service classes.

• Assist with other tasks as directed by the Life Enrichment Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Years of Related Professional Experience:

• 1-2 years of related work experience.

Educational/Position Requirements:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.

Computer/Software/Technical Applications:

• Ability to use a computer

• Proficiency in Microsoft suite

• Ability to input and retrieve data

• Ability to use electronic health record system

Languages:

• Ability to speak and comprehend English the primary language used in the workplace; ability to speak and/or comprehend other languages utilized by clients is a plus.

Required Licenses/ Certifications/ Background:

• Adult CPR/First Aid certification
