Position Summary: Office-Based BHH Registered Nurse (Part-Time) (20–24 hours per week | Monday–Friday Business Hours)
AWS is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Home (BHH) program. If you are looking to step away from traditional hospital shifts and transition into a consultative, office-based setting, this role offers a highly stable daytime schedule without nights, weekends, or on-call demands.
In this role, you will partake in our team-based approach for clients managing severe mental illness alongside chronic, complex physical health conditions. You will collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team consisting of a Clinical Lead, Nurse Care Manager, Team Leads, Case Managers, a Peer Support Specialist, and two Psychiatric Consultants.
This position is focused on medical consultation, interdisciplinary collaboration, health education, and client advocacy.

Your Role: Connect, Educate, and Empower In this highly collaborative role, you will serve as a vital medical consultant for clients managing complex health disparities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Medical Advocacy & Accompaniment: Provide occasional in-person advocacy, support, and medical care coordination for clients during their appointments at local doctors' offices.
- Clinical Mentorship & Support: Serve as a primary medical resource for our BHH Care Coordinators and Clinical Coordinators, interweaving physical health strategies into behavioral health care plans.
- Consultative Client Care: Provide remote and in-person consultative support for clients transitioning out of hospitals, emergency rooms, or treatment facilities to ensure safe and successful discharges.
- Health Education & Training: Step into a leadership role by conducting health education sessions for clients and offering vital health-literacy guidance to our non-medical staff.
- Data-Driven Coordination: Utilize our Electronic Health Record (EHR) to track client progress, analyze health outcomes, and translate medical data into actionable interdisciplinary care plans.
- Community Outreach: Advocate for client access to crucial external resources and coordinate seamlessly with external community health providers.
- Safety & Operational Advisory: Advise AWS management on health, safety, and infectious disease protocols, assisting in the development of robust internal policies.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate clinical guidance and coordinate with emergency services during crisis situations.

This position is primarily office-based within a collaborative, professional environment. It involves occasional local travel to accompany clients to medical appointments at community provider offices.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must have the ability to:
- Navigate Office & Clinical Settings: Function comfortably in standard office environments and external medical facilities, which may occasionally include walking short distances or navigating buildings with stairs.
- Operate Technology: Regularly utilize computers, standard office equipment, and electronic health record (EHR) systems, requiring frequent periods of sitting or standing at a workstation.
- Manage Light Lifting: Occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office supplies, files, or a laptop up to 15 pounds.
- Communicate Effectively: Frequently communicate clearly and effectively with clients, medical professionals, and team members, both in person and remotely.
- Drive Locally: Safely operate a motor vehicle for occasional travel to local doctors' offices, which includes driving in varying New England weather conditions (snow, ice, rain, fog).

Requirements: Qualifications & RequirementsRequired:
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine (or valid multi-state compact license).
- Certifications: Current CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Mobility & Transportation: Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation (essential for providing client advocacy at local doctor's appointments).
- Tech Fluency: Comfort navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR) and standard office software for data-driven care coordination.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the proven ability to work autonomously while seamlessly collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Compliance: Successful completion of all required background checks; must not be listed on state or federal suspension and disbarment lists (OIG).
Preferred:
- Clinical Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health, community health, or working with underserved, transient populations managing both clinical and psychiatric comorbidities.
