Location: Jackdaw Restaurant - Doubletree Hotel by Hilton Aurora, Aurora CO

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dishwashing, restaurant, service, storage, and assigned work areas in accordance with OHM, brand, health, and safety standards.
  • Sweeps and mops floors regularly and as needed throughout the shift, promptly addressing spills and other potential safety hazards.
  • Cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, equipment, and other assigned surfaces.
  • Washes pots, pans, trays, dishes, glassware, utensils, and other food service items by hand or using commercial dishwashing equipment, ensuring items are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Scrapes and removes food debris from dishes prior to washing and properly loads and unloads dishwashing racks or conveyor systems.
  • Ensures glassware, dishes, utensils, and other service items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to established procedures.
  • Polishes silverware and other items using approved equipment and methods, when required.
  • Properly stores and organizes clean dishes, glassware, utensils, equipment, and supplies in designated areas.
  • Removes and separates trash, garbage, and recyclable materials and places them in designated containers in accordance with property procedures.
  • Cleans and sanitizes garbage cans and other waste containers using approved methods and equipment.
  • Transfers supplies, equipment, and other materials between storage and work areas using appropriate safe-handling techniques or hand trucks.
  • Assists with stocking, organizing, and rotating food service and restaurant supplies using proper storage procedures.
  • Assists with setting up, servicing, and breaking down banquet tables and other food service areas, when required.
  • Assists with basic food preparation duties, such as washing and peeling vegetables, when required and appropriately trained.
  • Assists with bussing tables, clearing dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining clean and orderly dining areas.
  • Supports restaurant and culinary operations by assisting team members with additional duties as business needs require.
  • Follows OSHA requirements and all applicable workplace safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or performing other potentially hazardous tasks.
  • Handles cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), manufacturer instructions, and OHM and property procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate personal hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards in accordance with company and brand requirements.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, management, and other hotel team members to support efficient restaurant operations.
  • Reports to work on time, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties in accordance with company policies and scheduling requirements.
  • Provides friendly, courteous, and responsive service to guests and takes the initiative to greet guests in a warm and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, dependability, flexibility, and a willingness to assist in other areas of the restaurant or hotel as needed.
  • Follows all OHM, brand, property, food safety, sanitation, security, and operational policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, organized, and professional work environment throughout the shift.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Hours:

  • Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical Requirements of the Position:

    • Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or greater than 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
    • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

    Physical Activity of the Position:

    • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking/pinching with fingers, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.

    Environmental Conditions:

    • Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside.
    • Extremes of Heat Plus Temperature Changes: Extremes of Heat: Temperature sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort unless the worker is provided with exceptional protection.
    • Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature, which are sufficiently marked and abrupt to cause noticeable bodily reactions.
    • Wet and Humid: Wet: Contact with water or other liquids. Humid: Atmospheric condition with moisture content sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort.
