Fundraising Specialist
Reports to: Director of Finance
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Position Summary:
The Fundraising Specialist is responsible for supporting The Well’s fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts. This role helps cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, businesses, community partners, and foundations while assisting with fundraising campaigns, donor communications, events, and sponsorship opportunities.
The Fundraising Specialist works closely with leadership and program teams to communicate The Well’s mission, impact, and funding needs to the community. This role plays a key part in building awareness, increasing donor engagement, and supporting sustainable funding for behavioral health services and community initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- Associates’ degree in communications, nonprofit management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred experience in fundraising, community engagement, sales, marketing, customer relations, nonprofit work, or event coordination.
- Fundraising & Relationship Building Skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate The Well’s mission and impact effectively to community members and donors.
- Experience with customer service, networking, outreach, or relationship management preferred.
- Comfortable engaging with community partners, businesses, donors, and stakeholders.
- Administrative & Technical Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and communications simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn donor management or CRM systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assist with fundraising materials, donor communications, and event coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Assist with cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, and community supporters.
- Support donor outreach through phone calls, emails, thank-you communications, tours, and engagement activities.
- Help ensure timely donor acknowledgment and stewardship efforts.
- Maintain accurate donor records and communication tracking in the donor CRM or database.
- Fundraising & Community Outreach
- Assist with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, and donor initiatives.
- Participate in community outreach and networking opportunities to increase awareness and support for The Well.
- Support efforts to identify potential donors, sponsors, and community partnerships.
- Help coordinate donation drives, giving campaigns, and fundraising activities.
3. Communication & Storytelling
- Partner with program teams to gather stories, outcomes, and impact information.
- Assist in creating donor communications, newsletters, fundraising materials, sponsorship packets, and impact updates.
- Ensure messaging is mission-centered, trauma-informed, and aligned with The Well’s values.
- Collaborate with leadership and marketing efforts to strengthen donor and community engagement.
4. Events & Community Engagement
- Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising events, tours, and small-group gatherings.
- Represent The Well at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
- Support event logistics, sponsorship communication, and follow-up activities.
- Reporting, Tracking & Administrative Support
- Assist with maintaining donor records, fundraising reports, and tracking systems.
- Support accurate donation processing and acknowledgment procedures in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- Provide fundraising updates and activity reports to leadership as requested.
- Assist with grant support activities or fundraising documentation as assigned.
- Collaboration & Professional Development
- Collaborate with leadership and program teams to understand organizational priorities and funding needs.
- Participate in trainings, networking opportunities, and professional development activities related to fundraising and nonprofit engagement.
- Support other organizational initiatives and events as needed.
Work Environment & Requirements:
- Regular sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
- Frequent travel for donor meetings, events, and community engagement.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (event materials).
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation required. Mileage reimbursed at the federal rate.
