Machine Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Machine Mechanic responsible for setting up, adjusting, maintaining, and troubleshooting silkscreen printing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily production by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring products meet company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare equipment before each shift starts to ensure production starts on time.
  • Perform machine setups and changeovers by installing, aligning, and adjusting screens, fixtures, and related printing components.
  • Verify machine readiness prior to production startup.
  • Support production by responding quickly to machine adjustments and production needs throughout the shift.
  • Adjust machine settings, including speed, pressure, registration, and print alignment to maintain product quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform mechanical adjustments to minimize downtime.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and communicate larger repairs requiring Maintenance support.
  • Assist with process improvements that enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Monitor printed products throughout production to verify print quality, color consistency, registration, coverage, and overall product appearance.
  • Partner with Quality to identify and correct defects before they impact production.
  • Ensure equipment settings consistently meet customer and company quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience operating and setting up silkscreen printing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and production issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bottle decorating or printing experience.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, heat, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules based on business needs.
