PureGreen is looking for a skilled and dependable Machine Operator to support our Landscape Installation Division. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment while assisting with commercial landscape installation projects. ROLE SUMMARYThe Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining heavy equipment used in commercial landscape installation projects. This position supports grading, excavation, material handling, irrigation installation, and other construction activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to PureGreen quality standards.
This role is ideal for someone with equipment operating experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work closely with installation crews to complete projects on schedule.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIESEquipment Operations• Safely operate heavy equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, loaders, and other construction equipment
• Perform grading, excavation, trenching, material movement, and site preparation for landscape installation projects
• Operate equipment efficiently while maintaining productivity and minimizing property damage
• Read and follow project plans and directions provided by the Landscape Installation Manager or Crew Leader
• Perform daily equipment inspections before operation
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or repair needs promptly
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly functioning equipment
• Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment for fellow employees and customers
• Assist installation crews with landscape construction activities as needed
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies
• Support irrigation, planting, hardscape, and landscape installation projects
• Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout each project
• Work efficiently to help projects remain on schedule
• Communicate effectively with Crew Leaders, Project Managers, and fellow team members
• Assist with problem-solving and adapting to changing job site conditions
• Maintain accurate equipment inspections and maintenance records as required
• Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience operating construction or landscape equipment preferred
• Experience operating skid steers, excavators, trenchers, loaders, or similar equipment
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and equipment manuals
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship
• Equipment certifications are a plus
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to perform physical labor including bending, kneeling, lifting, and reaching throughout the workday
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Competitive hourly pay based on experience
$18.00 – $25.00 per hour
