Position Summary:
Sr. Program Therapist/Developmental Specialist provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and supports their families in promoting healthy growth and development. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Developmental Specialist conducts developmental assessments, develops individualized family service plans (IFSPs), implements evidence-based intervention strategies, and collaborates with caregivers to enhance developmental outcomes in natural environments such as the home, community, and childcare settings.

This full-time position is responsible for maintaining regular contact with families, monitoring child progress, documenting services in compliance with program, state, and federal requirements, and coordinating care with medical providers, therapists, and community partners. The Developmental Specialist empowers families through coaching, education, and resource connection while utilizing trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally responsive practices.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of child development from birth to age three, the ability work collaboratively, good time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and a commitment to supporting children and families through a strengths-based approach as well ask knowledge and experience with NM Early Intervention services.

This position requires flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to improving outcomes for young children and their families through compassionate, relationship-based intervention services.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current NM FIT Developmental Specialist certification
  • Experience working within a consultative model with other disciplines/professions and families
  • Experience conducting developmental assessments and evaluations of infants
  • Experience working with families to create a plan for intervention to support the development of infants
  • Experience and knowledge of the NM FIT early intervention system
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
