POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring that the facilities and equipment are maintained in the highest standards in their operations, maintenance and repair.
This job description is intended to cover multiple levels within the same role. Level and responsibilities will commensurate with the individual’s experience and qualifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in implementation and coordination of maintenance, repair, and renovations for the facility.
- Responsible for inspection and adjustment of HVAC components.
- Participate in the implementation of plant projects. Provide input into the design and implementation of mechanical aspects of projects to ensure tasks can be accomplished in a quality, cost effective, and timely manner.
- Maintains accurate and ample inventory of supplies needed for manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Assist with managing housekeeping activities
- Assist with managing pest control activities
- Trouble shoot and repair production equipment as required.
- Work with machine operators to rebuild reactors and to prepare units for IQ, as required.
- Coordinate work with facility contractors and maintenance vendors
- Keep the facility(s) in good working order.
- Complete facility and production equipment preventative maintenance activities per applicable schedules.
- Prepare Purchase Orders for required supplies and services
The Facilities Engineering Technician has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree, preferably in a technical field or equivalent experience/training with a mechanical and/or electrical skillset. At least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced business environment, with preference given to experience in medical device or related field. Self-starter, able to work well within the group environment. Solid organizational skills with the ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations. Must possess strong analytical and process skills, and basic computer skills. Experience with environmental health and safety responsibilities is desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees and outside organizations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and create and/or interpret spreadsheets and graphs.
