This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across multiple employee groups in a fast-paced, global organization. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing activities, including data validation, reconciliation, statutory compliance, and reporting. The position requires close coordination with internal teams, external vendors, and government agencies to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to local regulations. You will also support audits, resolve payroll discrepancies, and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems. This is a detail-oriented, high-responsibility role ideal for professionals who enjoy working with data, compliance frameworks, and operational precision in a structured environment. Your work will directly impact employee experience and financial accuracy across the organization.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution across all employee groups.
- Validate payroll data, reconcile payroll registers, and ensure consistency between internal systems and external vendor outputs.
- Process statutory payments including PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, Gratuity, and other local regulatory contributions.
- Handle full and final settlements, leave encashments, off-cycle payments, and year-end tax reconciliations.
- Coordinate with payroll vendors, government agencies, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Support payroll reporting, audits, and analytics by generating reports and ensuring data accuracy across systems.
- Identify root causes of payroll discrepancies and contribute to process improvements and issue resolution.
- 2–5+ years of experience in payroll processing or payroll operations within a corporate or BPO/shared services environment.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll cycles, statutory compliance, and tax regulations in India.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems and strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience working with payroll vendors and coordinating with cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, and Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and deadlines in a structured, high-volume environment.
- Good communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Familiarity with audit processes and payroll reconciliation best practices.
