We are launching a new business venture, centered around trucking and transportation servicing the energy industry. This new venture needs a strong Director of Safety to build a robust safety program and lead out.
The Director of Safety will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all Safety strategies. This role ensures compliance with DOT/FMCSA, as well as all relevant local and regional regulations, while promoting a culture of safety.
- Develop and enforce Safety policies, procedures, and programs that create a culture that values safety and promotes safe driving practices.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including DOT/FMCSA, and company safety standards.
- Oversee management and correct use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Maintain driver qualification files, ensuring compliance.
- Implement and manage electronic logging device (ELD) systems.
- Coach, counsel, and train employees to enhance safety and accident prevention measures.
- Management of all company FMCSA data, including MCS-150 and DataQs.
- Provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data analysis and support operational decisions using data driven methods.
- Minimum of 7 years of prior experience managing Safety in the trucking, transportation or logistics industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- Certified Director of Safety, or Safety Supervisor preferred.
- Extensive experience with DOT/FMCSA regulations - you can practically quote the FMCSR pocketbook
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build safety from the ground up.
