Title: Retail Sales Associate

Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time or Part-Time (16 to 40 hours per week)

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Front End Supervisor / Assistant Store Manager

Work Schedule: Sunday availability required; Morning (8:45 to 5:15) and Evening (10:45 to 7:15) shifts required based upon store needs

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Location: Shoreline, WA

Position Overview:

The Retail Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of Bella's Voice thrift stores. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming shopping experience, operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining an attractive sales floor, stocking merchandise, and advancing Bella's Voice's mission through every customer interaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service.
• Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Promote Bella's Voice's mission during customer interactions.
• Resolve routine customer concerns or refer them to a supervisor.
• Accurately operate the point-of-sale system.
• Process cash, credit card, and other transactions.
• Balance cash drawer and follow cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Stock merchandise and recover sales floor displays.
• Maintain clean, organized, and attractive merchandise presentations.
• Assist with seasonal displays and promotional merchandise.
• Assist with accepting donations.
• Transport merchandise to the sales floor.
• Support pricing, tagging, and merchandising activities.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers, volunteers, and supervisors.
• Participate in meetings and training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service or retail experience preferred but not required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail, thrift, or nonprofit experience.
• Cashiering experience.
• Passion for animal welfare and community service.
