Job Summary:

The Floor Supervisor position will be on an event by event basis. Supervisors are responsible for assisting the house manager in all front of house operations on the day of a performance or event.

This position requires a detail-oriented, highly organized team player with excellent interpersonal skills that work seamlessly and efficiently with AT&T Performing Arts Center staff and with end-users of the facilities. Essential skills include the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Must be a self-starter and work autonomously using independent judgment. A positive attitude towards the position and the Center's Core Values is imperative.

Position Responsibilities

Event Logistics:

  • Ensure that all guests are being welcomed in a kind and friendly manner.
  • Address any ADA needs.
  • Monitor patron flow and ensure audience safety before, during and after events.
  • Be present through completion of performance and exiting of patrons.
  • Complete a floor report after each performance and turn into the front of house manager.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and conduct a high level of customer service for each and every guest.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with volunteers, peers, coworkers and vendors. Act as a team player working with other departments to realize shared goals and objectives.
  • Position is part time and may require irregular work schedules at various times and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Day of Event Duties

  • Arrive promptly at call time, normally two hours before the scheduled performance or event.
  • Supervisors are assigned a specific floor for the performance and will act as an assistant to the house manager and relay any situations back to the house manager on the event night.
  • Supervisors will have a team of volunteer ushers they are responsible for. They will place ushers in assigned positions, provide breaks, and deal with any issues the usher may not be able to solve themselves in their assigned section. At the end of the event, the Floor Supervisor will make sure their section is clear, and that their ushers have returned all uniforms and equipment.
  • Supervisors will keep the house manager promptly and fully informed of any situations which require immediate management attention.
  • Ensure Center's core values are being adhered to
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities of the ushers on day of show

Requirements:

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • Work experience in a theater, performing arts institution or similar facility preferred
  • Professional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented industry
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude
  • Bilingual a plus
