POSITION SUMMARY

The On-The-Job Training & Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and sustaining a highly skilled manufacturing workforce by leading site training initiatives, workforce development programs, operator qualification systems, and learning content development.

This position serves as the primary training leader and coordinator for the Suwanee manufacturing facility while supporting training standardization and workforce development initiatives across multiple Web Industries locations. The role combines hands-on manufacturing training experience with learning program development to improve workforce capability, employee engagement, safety performance, quality outcomes, and operational productivity.

The ideal candidate will possess significant production and manufacturing experience and understand how training directly impacts safety, quality, efficiency, employee retention, and operational excellence.

This position follows a flexible schedule to support manufacturing operations and workforce development initiatives. While the typical workweek is Monday through Friday, occasionally required to work early morning, evening, and off-shift hours to meet training, production, and business needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manufacturing Training Leadership

• Coordinate and lead continuous improvements to the site's manufacturing training program.

• Coordinate training plans that support safety, quality, productivity, and workforce readiness objectives.

• Partner with supervisors, leads, and operational leaders to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.

• Support onboarding, orientation, and new hire training processes.

• Drive improvements that reduce time-to-proficiency and accelerate employee development.

• Establish accountability and consistency for on-the-job training practices.

• Assist in developing annual workforce development and training plans.

Workforce Development & Qualification Systems

• Maintain operator qualification and certification processes.

• Develop and manage employee skills matrices and cross-training plans.

• Support succession planning and workforce capability initiatives.

• Track and report training compliance, qualification status, and workforce development metrics.

• Analyze operational performance data to identify training needs and improvement opportunities.

• Support trainer development by coaching supervisors, team leads, and subject matter experts in effective training techniques.

Training Content Development

• Develop and maintain manufacturing training content including:

o Standard work instructions

o Job aids

o Visual training materials

o Videos

o Instructor-led training materials

o Skills assessments

o Blended learning modules

• Translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, operator-friendly learning materials.

• Gather and organize technical information from engineers, equipment suppliers, operators, and process experts.

• Support training standardization efforts across multiple facilities.

Safety & Compliance Training

• Coordinate and track recurring safety training requirements.

• Maintain training records and compliance documentation.

• Support safety audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.

• Develop and improve safety-related training programs.

• Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety teams to strengthen workforce safety awareness and performance.

Continuous Improvement

• Measure training effectiveness using established performance metrics.

• Identify opportunities to improve training systems, content, and delivery methods.

• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Use employee feedback and operational performance data to improve learning outcomes

Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills:

Manufacturing Experience (Required)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, industrial operations, or technical manufacturing environments.

• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, operator workflows, production requirements, and shop-floor operations.

• Experience working directly with hourly production employees, lead operators, supervisors, and plant leadership.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and operational systems.

Training & Development Experience

• Experience developing, coordinating, delivering, or supporting employee training programs.

• Experience with on-the-job training, workforce development, skills certification, or operator qualification programs preferred.

• Experience creating training materials and instructional content preferred.

• Experience supporting or administering a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

• Strong organizational, project management, and documentation skills.

• Ability to analyze data and communicate training performance metrics.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• High emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION

• Associate degree or equivalent manufacturing experience required.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Manufacturing, Operations, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to travel up to 15-20% to support training and workforce development initiatives across company locations.

• Ability to work in manufacturing and production environments, including exposure to industrial equipment and shop-floor operations.

• Must be able to work on government contract programs when required.

• Ability to read, write and speak and understand English.

• Ability to read and understand complex work instruction.

• Self-Motivated and detail oriented

• Team oriented

• Ability to lift 50Ibs to 75Ibs (location dependent)

Additional PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills:

• Track record of strong communication and above average job performance

• Experience manufacturing flexible materials

• Experience in Aerospace, Medical or Wire Cable manufacturing

• Experience working in ISO9000D Certified manufacturing environments

Must be able to work on government contracts.
