Job Description
Hyundai Rotem is a global heavy industry company that specializes in manufacturing rolling stock, military equipment and plant engineering. It is able to produce all types of rolling stock, including electric multiple units (EMUs), high-speed trains, engine locomotives, wireless trams and magnetic levitation (maglev) trains. In addition, it is ushering in the new era of eco-friendly hydrogen fuel by developing trains powered by hydrogen fuel cells along with hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen markets.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Main responsibility will be Payroll Administration.
Payroll Administration
- Process and manage biweekly payroll for two entities and monthly payroll cycles, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution through ADP Workforce Now.
- Review, audit, and validate payroll data including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, benefit deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings prior to payroll submission.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, wage adjustments, and employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure payroll activities remain compliant with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company recordkeeping requirements.
- Coordinate payroll updates related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefits deductions, and leave-of-absence adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll registers, benefit deductions, and general ledger payroll entries to ensure financial accuracy.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to support payroll reporting, journal entries, and month-end payroll reconciliations.
- Monitor and process payroll tax filings, wage garnishments, and other legally required deductions.
- Generate payroll-related reports including labor cost summaries, payroll variance analysis, and payroll activity reports for leadership review.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, audits, and payroll tax reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, internal controls, and system efficiencies while maintaining strict confidentiality of payroll information.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support recruiting efforts including sourcing candidates and coordinating the hiring process.
- Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools to identify and attract qualified candidates.
- Conduct I-9 verification and regularly audit documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
- Oversee the 90-day performance management process for new employees.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Compliance
- Prepare, review, audit, and process HR-related documentation to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, company, and client information.
- Stay informed of employment regulations and HR best practices and communicate updates to management.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures align with legal requirements and company standards.
HR Operations
- Support the HR team with daily operational activities and initiatives.
- Maintain employee files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Process employment verification requests, state-specific claim forms, and unemployment insurance claims.
- Communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs effectively to employees.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new HR policies and procedures.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR matters.
- Serve as a trusted HR resource and advisor to managers and employees.
- Manage routine to complex employee relations matters while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must have 2–3 years of payroll processing experience using ADP systems.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations including recruiting, payroll administration, and employee relations.
- Bilingual in Korean and English preferred
