This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Network Engineer - Staff based in the United States.

This is a senior-level opportunity to help build and operate the network infrastructure that keeps a global, technology-driven platform connected around the clock. You’ll join a Network Operations team focused on automation, reliability, security, and continuous improvement across cloud, datacenter, and office environments. The role combines hands-on network engineering with software-driven automation, giving you the opportunity to simplify complex infrastructure challenges at scale. You’ll work across hybrid AWS environments and modern networking platforms while collaborating closely with other engineering teams. Your work will directly contribute to resilient, highly available systems and seamless connectivity for users and partners worldwide. This is an ideal environment for an experienced network engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, learning new technologies, and improving how infrastructure is managed.

Accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve network automation tools used to configure and manage datacenter, cloud, and office networks operating 24/7.
  • Build automated configurations and maintain Ansible playbooks to improve consistency, efficiency, and reliability across network environments.
  • Leverage network REST APIs and scripting to automate infrastructure operations and reduce repetitive manual processes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and highly available network architectures across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, routing, and infrastructure issues across physical and virtualized environments.
  • Support and optimize networking technologies including TCP/IP, EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, LACP, MC-LAG, and Layer 3/4/7 load balancing.
  • Use network monitoring, packet capture, and observability tools to identify performance issues and support proactive infrastructure improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure initiatives, troubleshooting, architecture, and technical improvements.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and act as an escalation point for critical network incidents.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, automation approaches, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve network operations and engineering effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, with strong hands-on experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS and cloud networking, particularly within hybrid network environments.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP and networking architectures and protocols such as EVPN-VXLAN, Ether-Channel/LACP, MC-LAG, and virtual chassis.
  • Working knowledge of dynamic routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, as well as Layer 3, Layer 4, and Layer 7 load-balancing concepts.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Python or another scripting language, with the ability to automate network operations and repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with configuration-management and automation technologies such as Ansible or Puppet.
  • Hands-on experience with network operating systems and platforms such as JunOS, PanOS, ArubaOS, IOS, NX-OS, or ASA-OS.
  • Experience troubleshooting networking issues in virtualized environments and working with network monitoring and packet-capture tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development platforms such as Claude, Cursor, or similar tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and handle critical escalations.
  • Preferred experience includes F5 LTM platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI, Linux administration, SRE practices, Jira, and Git.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related technical field is preferred.
Benefits
  • Salary: $170,000–$190,000 USD for this United States-based role.

  • Career development: Development funding, leadership development opportunities, and access to thousands of on-demand learning courses.
  • Additional perks: Travel discounts and Employee Resource Groups.
