Job Description
Outpatient Director
Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center • Dayton, OH • On-site • Full-time
About the role
Woodhaven is launching its own outpatient program, and we need a director to stand it up and run it. This is a build-from-scratch leadership role: you’ll take it from an empty suite to a full, functioning program — setting up operations, staffing, referral pipelines, and the day-to-day systems that keep it healthy. We’re looking for an experienced leader who takes initiative, moves quickly, and can own outcomes without waiting to be told what to do.
What you’ll do
Lead the launch and ongoing operations of our outpatient program — facilities, scheduling, workflows, vendors, and technology
Build the referral and admissions pipeline; develop relationships with community partners, hospitals, courts, and referral sources
Partner with the Clinical Director to align operations with clinical quality, CARF accreditation, and Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (ODBH) requirements
Own the program’s performance — census, utilization, revenue cycle, and that services are documented and billed accurately for what’s actually delivered
Hire, lead, and develop the non-clinical team; coordinate staffing with clinical leadership
Manage the program’s budget and report on growth, outcomes, and operations to executive leadership
Roll up your sleeves during the build phase — this role rewards ownership and initiative
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in healthcare administration, business, behavioral health, or related field preferred
Proven experience leading or launching a behavioral health, SUD, or outpatient healthcare program
Strong operations background — staffing, budgeting, referral development, and revenue cycle
Working knowledge of CARF and ODBH standards (or ability to learn quickly)
A self-starter who can build structure where none exists and lead a new team
Clinical licensure (LPCC, LISW, LICDC) a plus but not required for this role
Why Woodhaven
We’re an established, CARF-accredited residential provider expanding into outpatient care. You’ll have the stability of a proven organization behind you and the freedom to build a program that’s truly yours.
To apply, submit your resume and a brief note on your experience launching or growing outpatient or behavioral health operations.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment requirements, which may include a criminal background check (including BCI&I and, where applicable, FBI checks), verification of credentials and references, and a pre-employment drug screen.
