Job Description
- Design, implement and manage HF’s civic and community engagement initiatives, including voter registration, voter education, and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) initiatives across the different states and municipalities.
- Prepare staffing plans and oversee work of temporary and permanent Civic Engagement staff.
- Work with partner community-based organizations, manage sub-grants and reporting of programmatic activities.
- Partner and participate with various civic engagement entities and funders (local, state, and national).
- Manage community engagement and organizing community events for all civic engagement projects from voter registration and engagement to public education and awareness campaigns (ex. Census outreach efforts)
- Prepare training materials and engage regions as they implement programs to ensure their adherence to HF standards of operations.
- Utilize Civic Engagement digital technology and databases, including the Voter Activation Network (VAN), and peer-to-peer and messaging tools.
- Ensure the high quality and success of HF’s civic engagement programs through quality control monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations corresponding to voter registration and ensure all programs are nonpartisan and in adherence to 501c3 requirements.
- Ensure fulfilment of progress to goal for various counties and states.
- Cultivate key relationships and partnerships with community leaders and community-based organizations in Hispanic Federation’s network.
- Support in preparing relevant funder and programmatic reports.
- Represent Hispanic Federation in front of media regarding civic engagement.
- A bachelor’s degree is required with minimum of 4 years of relevant voter outreach and engagement experience.
- Experience overseeing national campaigns and programs with budget responsibility is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills
- Additional languages spoken and written is an asset with Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel and work some evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing the Hispanic Federation’s values, mission, and goals.
- Experience with managing civic engagement specific systems such as VAN / Vote Builder or an equivalent system
- Excellent, well-developed verbal and writing skills are essential

Compensation and Benefits:
The position’s annual salary starts at $85,000 to $95,000, and the salary is commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance available upon first day of employment, 403(B) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.
First year employees of the Hispanic Federation receive a PTO package with 15 days designated for vacation and 12 Sick Days annually.
