Medical Receptionist in Plainwell, Michigan at Beacon Health System

Beacon Health System is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy healthcare practice.

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Register patients, verify demographic information, and complete check-in/check-out processes.
• Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining accurate patient records.
• Obtain and verify insurance information, authorizations, and precertifications.
• Process medical records requests in accordance with privacy regulations.
• Collect copays and patient payments, balancing daily transactions and deposits.
• Enter and review charges for services rendered.
• Answer phones, manage patient inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service.
• Support providers and clinical staff with general administrative and clerical duties.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate documentation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in medical reception, patient registration, healthcare administration, customer service, or a related role preferred.
• Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computers and office software.
• Applicable certification or licensure may be considered in lieu of education or experience, where appropriate.
