Job Description

AP Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AP Accountant II based in the United States.

This is an opportunity to take independent ownership of accounts payable operations within a fast-moving, international technology environment.
You’ll manage complex invoices, exceptions, reconciliations, and vendor relationships across assigned entities.
The role offers meaningful autonomy, requiring sound judgment and a strong sense of ownership from issue identification through resolution.
You’ll contribute directly to accurate financial operations, month-end close, controls, and reliable vendor management.
You’ll also help identify recurring issues, improve processes, and share your expertise with more junior AP colleagues.
Working across multiple legal entities and currencies, you’ll collaborate with teams in a highly international environment.
This role is well suited to an experienced AP professional who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and continuous growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Independently manage assigned accounts payable activities, taking ownership of complex invoices, exceptions, reconciliations, and outstanding items from initiation through resolution.
  • Exercise sound judgment when handling non-standard invoices and AP issues, determining appropriate solutions while escalating matters when necessary.
  • Manage vendor relationships within the assigned entity scope, responding to inquiries, resolving disputes, and maintaining accurate vendor records.
  • Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and AP aging reviews, while maintaining strong financial controls and meeting deadlines.
  • Identify recurring issues and patterns across AP activities and proactively raise opportunities for process improvements and greater operational efficiency.
  • Clearly frame issues requiring escalation, providing the relevant context, analysis, and proposed actions to support effective decision-making.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with AP Accountant I colleagues and provide informal guidance to support their professional development.
  • Work effectively across multiple legal entities and currencies while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and strong documentation standards.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of professional accounting experience, including 3–5 years specifically focused on Accounts Payable, ideally within an international or multi-entity organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage full-cycle AP processes, including vendor management, invoice processing, reconciliations, exception handling, and month-end activities.
  • Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to manage responsibilities end-to-end, meet deadlines, maintain controls, and follow through on outstanding issues.
  • Solid working knowledge of an ERP system; experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with multi-currency transactions and across multiple legal entities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, recognize patterns, and determine practical solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a consistent commitment to accuracy, compliance, and financial controls.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders in an international environment.
  • Experience with Zip or BlackLine is an advantage.
  • Exposure to technology, high-growth, or rapidly evolving business environments is a plus.
  • Additional language skills relevant to the entities supported are considered an asset.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation: Base salary range of $75,000–$100,000 USD.
  • Career development: Opportunities for professional growth, learning, and expanded responsibility.
  • Flexibility and autonomy: A work environment built around ownership, trust, and independent decision-making.
  • International exposure: Opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues across a global organization.
  • Innovative environment: Work within a technology-focused organization contributing to impactful AI and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Collaborative culture: Join a fast-moving team that values bold thinking, continuous growth, meaningful impact, and accountability.
  • Inclusive workplace: Commitment to equal employment opportunities and a diverse, supportive working environment.
  • Remote work: This is a remote position available in the United States.
  • Accessibility: Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process for qualified candidates.
