Job Title: Apparel and Hard Goods Sales Representative
Department: Team Sales
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Supervises: None
FLSA Status: Exempt
Territory: Southern California / Arizona
General Overview: Manages assigned territory selling all apparel and hard goods product lines directly to institutional team dealers and broader customer base. Implements marketing programs with a final objective of achieving overall sales objective.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sells apparel and hard goods directly thru existing dealer base, direct school accounts, and/or associated programs as needed to maximize sales in assigned territory.
- Develops strong business relationships with all apparel and hard goods accounts, roadmen and key schools or associations.
- Develops new apparel and hard goods business.
- Calls on high schools, small colleges, youth organizations targeting new or expanded apparel and hard goods accounts.
- Tracks sales by product line, customer, or as requested and produces required reports to meet weekly or other scheduled deadlines.
- Modifies and provides forecasts on quarterly and annual basis.
- Assists Product Marketing in developing product lines.
- Provides customer with service regarding follow-up on questions, required information or other account information.
- Maintains strong working relationship with Apparel and hard goods Customer Service Reps at Corporate office and Costa Rica plant.
- Provides key input from field to Regional Sales Manager.
- Tracks order status via JD Edwards.
- Follows up with Credit Manager as needed regarding Customer Credit status.
- Must reside or relocate within assigned territory
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prior sales experience, preferably in the sporting goods industry or a related area.
- Three years of specific industry experience or prior knowledge in Apparel sales, hard goods, product development or marketing.
- Prior experience with and strong understanding of forecasting and reporting procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Proficiency with INCORTA strongly preferred.
- Proven selling, time management and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate productively from a satellite office location.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- College degree in Sales or a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions: Position is required to travel approximately 80% of the time, including regular overnight stays.
