Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Account Executive - TradeSphere SaaS based in Canada.
This is a high-impact, quota-carrying sales role focused on accelerating adoption and revenue growth for a SaaS platform serving the international trade ecosystem.
You will own a significant portion of the commercial target, personally generating and closing new business while expanding opportunities across strategic accounts.
The role combines direct selling with broader sales enablement, helping establish a repeatable SaaS go-to-market model for future technology offerings.
You will act as a commercial subject matter expert, partnering with account executives, sales leadership, marketing, and other commercial stakeholders.
Your work will shape market positioning, competitive differentiation, pipeline generation, forecasting, and the organization's approach to SaaS selling.
You will also help strengthen the wider sales team's ability to identify, develop, and close technology opportunities.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced SaaS sales professional who combines strong commercial execution with strategic thinking and the ability to influence without authority.
- Own the commercial success of the SaaS platform, taking direct responsibility for revenue generation rather than serving solely as a sales support resource.
- Carry and achieve a meaningful direct revenue quota, with approximately 70% of the target generated through direct selling and approximately 30% supported by broader sales-force adoption, collaboration, and enablement.
- Generate new business opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, develop strategic accounts, and personally close a significant portion of sales opportunities.
- Drive customer acquisition and account expansion activities across targeted markets.
- Develop a repeatable SaaS go-to-market and revenue-generation model that can be applied to future technology-enabled offerings.
- Drive market activation, positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation.
- Serve as the commercial subject matter expert for customers, sales teams, leadership, and marketing stakeholders.
- Partner with account executives and broader sales teams to identify opportunities, support customer engagements, and accelerate revenue growth.
- Enable the field organization through training, sales plays, discovery methodologies, value articulation, and deal support.
- Establish strong pipeline-generation, opportunity-management, forecasting, and sales execution disciplines tailored to SaaS selling.
- Drive seller adoption and engagement across the broader sales organization to expand the reach of the SaaS offering beyond direct sales activities.
- Demonstrate SaaS sales best practices and establish clear execution standards and performance expectations.
- Identify, develop, and accelerate strategic opportunities while supporting complex customer engagements.
- Partner with sales leadership to integrate SaaS opportunities into territory planning, account planning, and broader growth strategies.
- Use CRM systems and sales analytics to monitor performance, manage opportunities, improve forecasting accuracy, and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and commercial stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging, effective sales materials, and strong market positioning.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sales, commercialization, strategic roles, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong SaaS and commercial expertise, ideally within customs, international trade, trade compliance, logistics, or another complex B2B environment.
- Demonstrated experience selling or commercializing SaaS, technology, or other complex solutions, with experience scaling technology offerings strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to generate pipeline, manage complex sales opportunities, negotiate with customers, and consistently deliver against revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of SaaS sales motions, customer acquisition, account expansion, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Ability to serve as a trusted commercial and product expert for customers, sales representatives, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong strategic-thinking and execution capabilities, with the ability to translate commercial strategy into measurable results.
- Ability to influence and enable others effectively without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, presentation, discovery, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to articulate business value clearly to different audiences.
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales analytics to manage opportunities, measure performance, and improve sales execution.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales leadership, account executives, marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, commercially driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant ownership and accountability.
- Strong business acumen and a direct, transparent communication style.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage priorities independently.
Benefits:
- Full-time employment with a home-office/remote work arrangement.
- Base salary range of $81,900–$117,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by location, skills, experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors.
- Incentive opportunities as part of the overall total rewards package.
- Comprehensive employee benefits.
- Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
- Supportive environment focused on collaboration, recognition, and career growth.
- Opportunity to work in the evolving international trade and technology sector.
- Exposure to senior commercial leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Opportunity to directly influence SaaS growth strategy, sales execution, and future technology offerings.
- Flexible work environment designed to support professional success and long-term development.
