Responsibilities
Market Strategy, Intelligence & Positioning
- Develop and execute a regional market strategy aligned with company growth goals
- Identify and prioritize target clients, partners, and sectors based on strategic fit
- Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and local dynamics to inform decision-making
- Define and refine differentiation strategies to position Roers competitively within each market
- Provide insights that influence messaging, pursuit strategy, and go-to-market approach
Relationship Development & Market Access
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, brokers, architects, and key stakeholders
- Create intentional access to decision-makers through consistent, strategic engagement
- Represent Roers through industry events, community involvement, and targeted outreach
- Develop creative approaches to connect with high-value and hard-to-reach clients
Pursuit Strategy & Win Positioning
- Lead strategy for key pursuits, including positioning, messaging, and partner alignment
- Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to ensure pursuit strategies are realistic and executable
- Guide proposal efforts in partnership with marketing support resources
- Stay actively involved throughout the pursuit lifecycle to increase win probability
Pipeline Development & Performance Management
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline aligned with company capacity and strategic priorities
- Track activity, relationships, and pursuits within CRM systems
- Report on pipeline health, market trends, and performance outcomes
- Continuously refine approach based on results and market feedback
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner with internal leadership to align opportunities with operational capacity and business goals
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation
- Support smooth transition of secured work to operations teams
- 5+ years of experience in construction, development, or related industry with a focus on growth, strategy, or client development
- Strong network of developer and owner relationships in their assigned region.
- Proven ability to influence and secure construction opportunities through relationships and strategy
- Strong understanding of general contracting, preconstruction, and delivery methods
- Financial acumen with the ability to understand project financing and speak the language of developers and owners
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Self-directed and strategic thinker with the ability to operate independently
Compensation and Benefits for Director of Market Strategy:
Pay Range: $110,500 - $148,300
Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
